Employment branding 101
It’s not what you say it’s what you do. It’s every contact point from your careers website to the person the candidate meets in the pub. It’s the receptionist on interview day, the office environment on day one.
Yes some of it is marketing, about how you package the opportunities you have but some of it is plain, simple common sense. Give the candidate the experience you would want. Call them back, keep them in the loop, tell the bad news that they don’t want to hear but do it in a way that lets them move on to their next opportunity having learnt something.
Treat your candidates like a consumer you want to buy from you. How would you attract them, get them excited about what is going on, give them the information they are looking for and make it easy for them to add to basket and checkout?
Get social, make twitter interactive, write a blog, follow up linkedin requests, show you are a human.
