Park...

Sitting in the park is often the best place for me to have some of my best business ideas.  Discocabs, shark and buy the slice have all been cracking ideas, all park generated.  As yet some of them haven't quite made it to production so to speak.  Actually of those three, none of them are exactly trading... Discocabs (start the party early)... A disco in a cab lacked true conviction on my part.  Or a cab. Or a disco. Shark is a bar concept centred on 'going on the shark'... The original name was woof but that is too 90's. To complete the concept Shark just needs some cash, premises, staff, alcohol and a licence.  Buy the slice is s cracking margin high fast food experience that lacks... Well you get the picture...

For all my planning, the only businesses that I have actually sone something with, quit the day job for have been recruitment based... If I was a geek... Recruitment would be the thing that I was geeky about... Actually... I am a geek... And recruitment IS my thing...

So sat here in the park what does that mean and what is the idea...

Well it's no surprise that it is about refining the mckinley|resource offering... We started as executive search moved into IT sales recruitment but now focus two stands, business coaching and what I call RPO lite.  The business coaching I hope is self explanatory, helping sme's develop their plan, develop sustainable growth and thrive.  As part of this I recently became a non-exec director at BowkerIT in morecambe.  Really exciting proposition, exciting business and whilst there is work to be done also a lot of fun to be had.  I would like more of these kinds of relationships...

RPO lite is building on my inhoue talent acquisition assignment (plus others) where I am managing a pan-EMEA recruitment function with a heavy emphasis on direct do sourcing and the challenges that managing over 250 vacancies brings you... And my proposition makes a big play on that... Delivering people... Recruitment professionals onside on day rate or project basis... But more than that we are taking clients further down the talent acquisition model, developing capability or helping them to understand how to improve their own proposition to candidates or simply making the process slicker.

This isn't a sales pitch, this is part of our market research from people in the market... What's missing in your business, what's missing in the Market and despite what we think are some compelling offerings are we too 'me too' in a confused recruitment market desperate to find something new?

Get in touch... martin.dangerfield@mckinleyresource.com... Having a conversation now could change the end result so your input is welcomed.

Thanks for your time today.
